What changed for Thorverton Stone.

Greater confidence in everyday systems

Improved reliability helped staff trust the technology they rely on to do their jobs.

More consistent ways of working

Standardised software and processes helped the team work together more effectively.

Practical flexibility for the business

A key team member now works from home two days a week, fully supported and productive, without relying on colleagues to manage files and access.

The business challenge

When everyday technology starts holding people back.

Thorverton Stone manufactures bespoke architectural and cast stone products for builders, architects, self-builders and memorial masons.

As the business grew, its technology environment was becoming a constraint. IT and security were basic and inconsistent across users and devices. Older hardware was underperforming, while a challenging satellite internet setup added concerns about reliability.

The business needed dependable support, stronger protection and a more consistent working environment. Improvements also had to fit around the practical demands of production and office work.

The partnership

One partner taking responsibility.

Thorverton Stone adopted TS Complete, bringing managed IT support and cyber security together under one partner.

Onboarding was planned around production and office hours so the team could continue working while improvements were introduced. The ongoing relationship combined regular onsite reviews with a UK helpdesk familiar with the business and its people.

Three priorities shaped the work.

Making systems more dependable

Addressing the inconsistent environment and keeping systems under regular review helped build staff confidence in everyday IT.

Helping people work together

Standardising software and processes improved consistency across the team and supported more cohesive working.

Providing familiar, approachable support

Thorverton’s feedback mentions Luke and Ian by name, reflecting the value of dealing with people who know the business and understand its environment.

A tangible change in how work gets done.

One of the clearest outcomes was enabling a key team member to work from home two days a week.

Previously, remote working depended on colleagues helping with files and access. The employee can now work productively with the support they need, reducing that dependence on the office team.

It is a practical example of technology supporting the way a business needs its people to work.

Confidence for the next stage.

For Thorverton Stone, the partnership provides reassurance about both immediate support and future requirements.

“I feel confident that Tomlinson Solutions will be able to assist us with any IT needs we have now, and in the future, with solutions that will support our business as it continues to grow. I would encourage any business to contact them if they have any IT requirements.”
